THE OUTLAWZ MONDAY GREETING CARD CHALLENGE

Spring has sprung for most of you in the Northern Hemisphere.  To get into the swing of things the Greeting Card challenge today at The Outlawz  is....
April Showers ... be it Rain, Wedding, Baby...
Use your imagination!
Weddings are being planned, babies are being born, after a long winter the rain is feeding the flower beds in hopes of an impressive show of colour!

Here is my card and I am not entering this card into the Outlawz challenge, as I am on their DT.  I interpreted the theme very literally - and used rain as the theme of my vintage style card with a tag:

The digital tag is from The House Across the Bay Etsy store which I printed onto textured cardstock.  The image of the couple is a watercolour from the internet (I had a good look and it seems to be free to use for non-commercial use), and I had to line up the tag image very carefully so I could overprint the couple image onto the tag (it went through the printer twice).

The card base is kraft CS with the edges chalked/distressed, and the DP is a page out of a dictionary (I also distressed the edges of the page using chalk)

Now for the sentiment, which I created myself.  It is computer generated, in different fonts, printed on textured CS, and then the individual words were torn out.  The edges were distressed too.
The embellishments are a scrap of lace that I had been meaning to throw away for a long time ( now I'm glad I didn't!) and I recoloured it with Copics and some chalk.

The heart in the bottom left hand corner started out its life as a pearl white, but after some Copics recolouring it is now this wonderfully rich deep red colour.

I need to practice my vintage style as it is so far out of my comfort zone, so please be kind when you leave me a comment suggesting how I can improve my techniques in this style.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
SWEET STOP SKETCHES, #206 (I flipped the sketch horizontally)
FLOURISHES, TIMELESS TUESDAY, #215, AROUND THE HOUSE       The lace is my ‘around the house’ item)
