TERRIFICALLY THRILLING THURSDAY AT SHELLY'S IMAGES

It's THURSDAY, and time for me to share the card I made for
TERRIFICALLY THRILLING THURSDAY AT SHELLY'S IMAGES today.

But first, I would like to announce that the winner of the Shelly's Images Gift Voucher, is commenter Doreen.
Your gift voucher is on its way through cyberspace to you !

Doreen, thanks so much,  I love reading the comments on my posts!

And now back to Shelly's Images' special featured image of the week, called "High Heel Shoes".  If you pop along to the Shelly's images store now, you will be able to snag it at a special price!
High Heel Shoes
Here is my card :

I used the spotlight stamping technique and added Glossy Accents to the blue shaded sections of the shoes.

This card fits perfectly into the new challenge at Shelly's Images blog, "U PICK 2" ... you are given this list

Ribbon
Bling
Color Blue
Flowers
Digi Image
Markers
Punched Borders
Monochromatic

and you need to choose two of them to add to your card.

Now I have a confession:  The original two items for my card were a digi image and the colour blue, and while I was sewing the beads onto the butterfly (yes ... I sew them so I know they stay where they are meant to be and I don't have to wait for any glue to dry) ... anyway, while I was sewing I pricked my finger with the needle.  Now that happens often so I never take any notice and don't really feel the pain anymore.  Then all of I sudden I saw red on my card where there should only have been blue and white ... horror of horrors - a messed up card.  So out came the bling rhinestone and blue ribbon, and I thought as I had most of the items on the list on my card, let go the whole way and add EVERYTHING.  I added the punched border and that completed the list.

But YOU don't have to add everything on the list, only two ... and if you do, you can link your creation to the challenge and stand the chance to win!

Please remember our Challenge Rules:

1. Link directly to your blog post entry, NOT your entire blog.

2. Shelly's Images are NOT required (but we'd LOVE to see them).

3. New projects ONLY ... NO back linking.

4. Your entry must follow the theme.  The entry can be any type of project so long as it follows the theme.

5. Only FIVE entries per challenge PLEASE. Any additional entries will be deleted in an effort to keep our challenge fair for all participants.

6. Challenge entry ends at 12:00 Noon (CST) on Wednesday.

BALLERINA IN SOCKS

This little lady visited my pencil this morning, and I thought she needed a little colour to bring her to life ...

I coloured the image using alcohol markers and white gel pen for the highlights.

All the edges have been lightly distressed to match the DP which is from Fabscraps (a South African company).
The embellishments are a strip of tulle gathered up into a semicircle, a paper rose and three stick on hearts. (The tulle is over 23 YEARS old and the rose at least 5 years old as I removed it from a farewell card I got when I left work in June 2007)

I arranged the elements according to today's sketch at The Outlawz :

I have named this little cutie pie "Gwen" after my friend whose birthday it is today!

This image is not yet in the digistamps4Joy.co.za store, and will be included in an upcoming new release (check on Sunday ... who know - she could be there on Sunday!)

I would like to add the card to the following challenges too:

MY TIME TO CRAFT, #180, 'IT TAKES TWO' (two identical gem hearts)
OLDIE BUT GOODIE, 'ANYTHING GOES' (the tulle is from a wedding veil I made and beaded BEFORE my oldest son was born and he is turning 23 in two months time!)
USE IT TUESDAY, #32, 'USE TWO HOARDED ITEMS" (that's not difficult for Superhoarder - the tulle is 23 years old and the rose 5 years old)
KAREN'S DOODLES, #105, 'STITCH IT UP' (I gathered up the tulle with a needle and thread and hand stitched the tulle and the rose to the card)
{PIN}SPIRATIONAL CHALLENGE, #9, (I was inspired by the soft peachy pink of the ice cold fruit juice)

PUNKETTE PRUE - DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY

One of my favourite images that I drew for Digistamps 4 Joy is Punkette Prue, and I have created a card for a friend's daughter, who is turning 16 soon.  I know she doesn't follow my blog, so there is no danger of her seeing this card before her birthday!

I know her favourite colours are pink, purple, black and white so this is just for her! I attempted to make the tutu transparent and glittery and the fishnet stocking appear sheer.  The image is coloured using alcohol markers and highlights are done using a white gel pen.

The zebra striped diecut behind the image started life as black and white but to add a little funkiness I coloured it to match the image.  Little flower sequins are sewn on using transparent seed beads and the little roses are sewn on too.  I prefer sewing on my embellishments where I can as I know my stitching will seldom let me down. An offcut of braiding, some rhinestones and a silver ribbon make up the embellishments.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

OLDIE BUT GOODIE, 'ANYTHING GOES' (all the embellishments on my card are well over 6 months old - call me Super-Hoarder!)
SHOPPING OUR STASH, #63, "MAY FLOWERS' (about three years ago I bought a big bag of the little metal roses for use on the  bellydance costumes I make)

A SUMMER FUN NEW RELEASE FROM BUGABOO STAMPS

Are you ready to get to the seaside yet?  This  cute duck certainly is ...

For my project featuring today's new release I made a 'passport/wallet) card.  The colours of the image were inspired by a pack of three velvet puffy stickers that I bought a few years ago cos they looked so bright and happy.  The colourful designer papers are some really old offcuts that I thought just added to the sunshine feel of the image and stickers.
Would you like to own this o-so-cute duck too ... link to Bugaboo Stamps' Catch the Bug blog to see the other projects in the hilariously funny post by RaeAnne (you simply can't miss this one!) and find the link to the store.

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY'S "COY CANDY"

One of the new images released in the Digistmaps 4 Joy store yesterday is this little cutie pie I drew, called "Coy Candy":
I coloured her using alcohol markers and the pattern on her sarong is created by some doodling with a white gel pen.  Her sunglasses were covered in Glossy Accents, and as I wanted to create a CAS card, the white organza ribbon and bow are the only embellishments.
Here is a closer look at the white gel pen doodling:

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY - NEW RELEASE SUNDAY

We released a lot of new images at the Digistamps 4 Joy store last Sunday, and have done so again this week.  Quite a few of my latest "cutie pies" and some of my older drawings are now digitized and available - I am so sorry that some of you have had to wait so long for them to be available as digi's - but here they are ... (and I am sure there will be more NEXT week).

To introduce the new releases, I have made a card with "Prom Girl" and when you take a closer look at the image - she could be a bride, or a maid of honour, or even a young lady celebrating a special birthday...

I coloured her using alcohol markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.  I often get asked whether I colour then find the DP or vice versa.  I am a little 'weird' I think because I don't see images as black and white line drawings ... I usually see the finished project.  For instance, for Prom Girl I saw swirls, flourishes, gems and flowers with BRIGHT colours and BIG contrasts.  SO I rummaged around in my scraps box and found this paper that happened to be the flip side of the DP I used for Volleyball Val (the red background with white leaves) and knew that this ticked the boxes for gems, flowers, and big bright contrasting flowers.  So this one was coloured according the the DP.  Sometimes I see the finished project in specific colours and then colour the image first, and look for the DP and embellies later.  SO to answer that question of what comes first ... I suppose the answer is "Whatever the image tells me"  ... I told you I was weird!

Anyhow, this little Prom Girl decided she liked flowers and swirls, and that's what she got, along with the bright contrasting colours, and the stripes were a bonus!  She has such a pretty little face (thanks Margy for your awesome digitizing - she looks really sweet!)
So pop on to the blog HERE to have a look at all the new images or to the store HERE to check out ALL the awesome images available.

BTW : Punkette Pam is also one of the new images:

VOLLEYBALL VAL - DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY

"Volleyball Val" is a new image that I created for Digistamps 4 Joy, and soon she will be in the store HERE.  This is a reminder, too, that Digistamps 4 Joy has another HUGE new release in the store on Sunday (in fact EVERY SUNDAY is new release day) and you will find last week's new releases HERE and next Sunday's will be on the blog too.  If you like the cutie pie you see below, pop along and see the others released last week, and pop back on Sunday to see some more.

I made my card according to the sketch provided by Willow Sketchie Challenge, and also used their colours of red white and blue, and co-incidentally, the colours also feature in the
