Here is my card for this week's sketch

The image I used is "Sweet Peas", a brand new image available in the prisillastyles store HERE. It was coloured using my various coloured pencils and OMS, and a gold metallic pencil.

Offcuts of cardstock were used for the backing paper, and for the die cuts using my Nellie's Choice die. The butterflies, which are actually table sprinkles for caterig purposes, have been attached using double sided foam tape. The pink embossed paper is store bought, and the colour really matches the colouring of the image.

You are invited to hop on over to the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge by clicking HERE, and enter your creation ... who knows, you might even win one of those fabuous prizes so generously supplied by our sponsors. hile you are there, have a look at the DT's fabulous inspiration creations, and visit their blogs to learn how they put their cards together.

Oh yes, and don't forget to visit the priscillastyles store - some really wonderful images have recently been added, and I am sure you'd like to be one of the first to work with them.

happy creating - I'm looking forward to leaving some lovely comments on your MMSC creations once they've been added.

IT'S THE OUTLAWZ PARTY WEEK!!!

Party week at the OUTLAWZ place kicked off yesterday (Sunday) with a CAS challenge in which you can enter up to three creations, and I have already entered my first two, for a chance to win some fantastic prizes! If you are a follower of my blog here you will have already read about the party to celebrate 300 members (we're past that now).

The CAS challenge had an inspirational photograph, and based on that, we needed to create. Now I am not the best at CAS projects - I love to pile it on, embellish, bling, and all the bells and whistles too! But I gave it my best shot.

Here are my first two creations

The first is an invitation wallet, on which I used an image from Pattie's Creations, available in her etsy store. Unfortunatel I don't have a template for you cos I custom cut it from an idea in my mind and with a little trial and error - this is what it came out as ...

The second is a CAS card using a largely uncoloured image from A Day for Daisies, and all that I did was paper piece the waistcoat. Isn't this the most tender of images - I just love it! More ADFD images are available here

I will be posting three more cards later this evening for the Birthday Challenge, so please pop back ...

Love Jen

Oh - Happy Valentines Day!

CS DESIGNS : SOME GOOD NEWS , AN INVITATION AND MY WEEKLY SHOWCARD!!

First the GOOD NEWS !!!

CS Designs has just started a NEW group on SNR ... and you are invited to join our group there too.

This is your invitation... just click .........<<HERE>>. Chris and the Design Team would LOVE to welcome you there!

I have TWO creations using the fabulous digital images designed by Chris Stern of CS Designs to show you this week:

The first one (above) is FLORAL SUN MONTAGE which I printed onto white cardstock and cut out using a Nellies Choice die. Coloured in various coloured pencils and OMS, it was mebellished using rhinestones, sequins and beads which I sewed on. The backing is various offcuts of cardstock which I rescued from my box marked 'too pretty to toss'.

The second creation is EXPRESSIVE HEARTS 1, a riot of fantasy colour and beads, sequins and flat back pearls. I think it has a bit of an Egyptian (Tutankhamen) feel to it with the gold and turquoise colors in the hair, now that I look at as a photograph.

Happy crafting this weekend ...

A DAY FOR DAISIES - SOME HAPPY NEW RELEASES

Yesterday Tammy released some really happy new images and the one I fell in love with is "You Make Me Happy" , an image that is the very picture of the unbreakable bond between mother and daughter.

I didn't want to colour the image too much as I felt the simple lines were more than enough to showcase Tammy's fabulous talent for capturing emotions. It is a bit of a different kind of card for me, as I love to expres myself in lots of colour, but this one totally works!

There is not much to say about how the card was created ...

The image was left uncoloured, except for the flowers and the lips, and I added a black border. I created a "To Do" list page, by adding some WordArt. The BP is an offcut of scrapbooking paper tht I have had in my box of scraps for yonks, and I carefully cut around the stem of one of the flowers and popped the image behind that. The embellies are some rhinestone flowers, a paperclip and a short length of satin ribbon.

Rewmember, there are some fabulous freebies up for grabs in the "A Day for Daisies" groups which you can use to enter the current challenge that calls for something metal or metallic to be added to your creation. (But hurry, there are only a few days left to enter!)

The groups also have a Monthly Card Game in which you can win ADFD images....

DESIGNED TO DELIGHT : POT LUCK GAME

There's a party at Designed for Delight this weekend 4 - 6 Febuary, and the first day's came is called "Potluck", where a list of 10 items is given from which you need to choose at least 5 to add to your entry. There is a beautifully heart freebie provided. Your entry qualifies you for the next freebie, and you are also entered into the draw for a Gift Certificate to spend in the store.

ABOVE is card for this challenge and I managed to use all ten of the items on the list
1. MAKE YOUR OWN FLOWER - I used offcucts of embossed purple velvet paper to make my flower and added a sequin to the centre
2. CORNER OR BORDER PUNCH - I used my corner punch to round off the corners of my pieces/mats/bp's
3. RIBBON : the lilac ribbon behind the heart image
4. STRIPES : found in the BP
5. THE COLOOUR PINK : can be found in the little pink flower sequins and one of the stripes in the BP is pink
6. PURPLE RIBBON : an offcut of pruple wired organza ribbon was used to make the bow
7. THANK YOU SENTIMENT : the silver stick-on
8. EMBOSSING FOLDER : I used a Cuttlebug border embossing folder on the metallic purple mat behind the imge
9. 3 FLAT BACK PEARLS : I used three purple flat back pearls
10. STITCHING, FAUX OR REAL : I used real stitching to sew the sequins and beads, as well as the ribbon and the bow.
Please join us on the challenge at Designed to Delight - click here to link to the challenge blog

CS DESIGNS - artist Chris Stern

I am very proud to announce that I am now a member of the CS Designs Design Team and really looking forward to working with the very talented artist, Chris Stern.

I would like to introduce the rest of the Design Team to you ...

My fellow designers are ...
Marilyn Webb
Melissa Oeters

Honorary Designer
Aletha Jane Williams

Please click on their names to read their biographies ....

Chris recently started a group on Crafters Digital Art Centre, and being the nosy busybody that I am (LOL) I went to check out what her images were like. ... and when I got there, OH YES! I LIKED !

Click HERE if you'd like to become a member of Chris' group on CDAC ...

Chris designs some really cute buggy little beasties, each with its own identity, name and quirks of character. Here is a card I made with "Winged Emily and her Heart".

This is one of Chris' more cutesy images, and she has a host of other characters for you to create really delightful projects with too!

The next card I'd like to show you is one I made with the CS Designs image called Charisma, and the final product looks very Mardi Gras-ish, dont you think?

Chris offered a freebie in the Group Heart Hop last weekend and instead of colouring it and creating a card, I now have a very blinged out door hanger for my wardrobe. The sewn-on beads and flatback pearls make this into a very girly decor item for our bedroom - I am not sure what my darling hubby makes of this addition, but possibly by now he is used to expecting the unexpected from his bead-crazy wife!

Take a look at these two sites

Like what you see? Yes, well come on over, join the group - we'd ALL love to welcome you there!

Happy creating and lots of love from a VERY hot and humid Durban today

FRIDAY IS A DAY FOR DAISIES DAY - YAY!

Every Friday I get to show you a creation made with one of Tammy's gorgeous new releases and there is a bonus today, because it's also the start of a new challenge.

So to start with, here is the DT card I made with one of the newly released images
I used the image of the Heart Bird Bath and coloured in very pale tones (green and lavender) and used a white cardstock bckground that was embossed using a Cuttlebug folder as I thought the bird was very appropriate! I just LOVE that folder!

The image was popped up on foam blocks, as were the little birds from the image that were cut out from the original image and individually placed.

Oh I love the white on white look!

And then the second card I'd like to show you is my DT card for the ADFD challenge where you are asked to use metal or metallics on your creation.

For this card I used another of the new releases, the watering can which actually had an image of strawberries on it - now hidden by the little metallic flowers. I tipped the image on its sde to give the impression that showers of little flowers were falling on the embossed flower border below.

The beads and sequins were sewn on, and the really teeny tiny flowers are nail art decorations that were stuck onto the card using the nail glue that was supplied with the pack of multicolour nail art goodies.

I am not done yet ...

The card you see below is one I made with the A Day for Daisies freeebie available this month in the Monthly Card game. Why don't you hop on over and join the group, grab the freebie and then you'll have no excuse not to join in on the challenge or on the Monthly Card Game, prizes for both of which will be images from Tammy's Store.
