TUTORIALWEDNESDAY WITH BUGABOO STAMPS : FAUX SILHOUETTE TECHNIQUE

I'd like to share with you just how easy it is to use your images into silhouettes and how cute the Bugaboo images work for this technique:

For my card I have merged three images :

and merged the png versions so that their hands are touching, before printing them onto white cardstock. They were then coloured black using an alcohol marker. (This could also be done using  Photoshop, etc).

The image was trimmed so that the outermost lines of the image are on the cut edge of the white cardstock. It was matted onto black cs so it looks like this:

I then went on to complete my contemporary silhouette card:

Here is the finished card:

Also use on my card are :

bows, sewn on sequins and beads, pearls, star gems

bling braid, organza ribbon trim, round punched sentiment, satin ribbon bow

Thanks for visiting today - I hope you enjoyed the tutorial, and if you try it for yourself, say you found it on the Bugaboo Stamps' Catch the Bug blog!

NEW RELEASE :: BUGABOO STAMPS

One of today's new releases at Bugboo Stamps is the image I have used on my card, called AKV Men Camping.

I used alcohol markers for the colouring:

The image is merged with a digital sentiment, and added a digital bootprints border.

Also on my card is a ribbon that I coloured using Copic inks (from the refill bottles) to match the colours I used on the image :

USE SOME TWINE - A SQUIGGLEFLY CHALLENGE

The new challenge over at Squigglefly today is

USE SOME TWINE

and here is how I used twine on my tag:

The image is called Bubbles and is available in the Squigglefly store here.

I coloured using Copics and added Glossy Accents to the bubbles.  The sentiment is printed on the computer and I used blue cs matting on my tag.

An eyelet and some twine complete the project.

A NEW CHALLENGE AT SQUIGGLEFLY!

This week's challenge at Squigglefly is

USE SOME TWINE

And this is what I created using an image from James Horvath called Cow Kite  to inspire you to join us :

I coloured the image using Copics, and matted it onto red cs, which was also fussy cut:

I made a bank note sized envelope, and added two small kraft circle diecuts and attached them with brads.  The twine was used as .a closure.

ANYTHING BUT A CARD MONDAY WITH BUGABOO STAMPS

I wish that I had one of these when my three sons were young all those years ago - to write down the cute things they said! - Perhaps I will remember when I am a gogo (Zulu for granny).

My project is a little purse sized,  altered notebook for mom (or gran) to write down the cute "things that baby said"

The image featured is Bugaboo's Baby Fairy and I coloured it in bright Copic shades of pink (can you tell I am hoping that my first grandbaby will be a girl?)  I added a star gem to her wand.

To create this little book, I used a ready bought memo pad, and covered it with pink cardstock.  I made a pen holder from the offcut of the cardstock and pasted it inside the back cover.

The image was square cut with rounded corners, and pasted onto the cover.  Two pearls are the embellies.
The border is pink satin ribbon and pink gingham ribbon and I added a pink a baby footprints embellie.
