and another announcement ........... ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa........!
WOOOO HOOOOO!!! As from today, together with Tammy Miller, I am one of the two DT Leads for the Progressive Freebie Challenges on Crafters Digital Art Centre!
I am pleased to introduce you to my half of the team, and in no particular order, they will introduce themselves to you :
My name is Ruza Rebel. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. My loving husband, Nick, and I will be celebrating our 27th anniversary this year and we are the proud parents of two awesome young adults. We migrated to the Northern Suburb of Round Lake Beach, IL 16-yrs ago. I’ve been crafting in one form or another since I was a child. When I was laid off in August 2-yrs ago I started making cards for family birthdays, anniversaries, etc., as a way to stay busy while my daughter was at school. After attending the 2010 CHA Super Show in Chicago I really got into making my own cards. I saw all of the amazing designs on display and I knew I could do this, and do it well. I created my blog “Ruza’s Craft Corner” in November 2010 to share my designs. I really enjoy the versatility of digital stamps. I prefer clean and simple designs, but have been known to go a little crazy a times. Coloring the images with Copic Markers, Color Pencils, Watercolor Pencils, or Distress Inks is very calming and soothing for me. I am honored that I was chosen to be a part of the CDAC Progressive Challenge Design Team, and look forward to seeing all of your designs. My blog
Hey all! My name is Shelby. I'm from the US and currently living in the beautiful mountain state of Colorado with my family though I'm a born and raised Midwesterner flatlander. I started crafting in April '10 when I saw an infomercial for an electronic cutting machine. I thought now that could be something that keeps me out of the cookie jar! I then discovered stamps but didn't understand how all the pretty colors got into the images. Then I read about Copics and picked up my first Copic in August of 2010. I just recently discovered the whole new wonderful, creative and amazing world of digital art! I started blogging in June of this year (2011) after getting up enough courage to place my work into the public view. Copics is what I'm truly passionate about, and if the image has some space to color, I'm coloring it! I'm so honored to be part of CDAC's progressive challenge team and look forward to learning even more skills, and hopefully I can inspire some of you on this journey. My blog
Hi, my name is Donna Moore and I am from the US and live in the Piedmont area of NC. We have a small farmwhere I have 3 horses and an adorable Lab mix named Abby. I have been married for over 40 years, have two grown children and two very amazing grandsons. Crafting has always been a part of my life but most recently card making has become my passion! Stampin’ Up! was instrumental in guiding my path in the card making direction, when I was first introduced to stamping I feel in love and immediately began to build my inventory! From inked stamps I took the leap into digital and found a whole new world that could be just as much fun as ink stamping with a whole lot more diversification. I love utilizing the layering capabilities on my computer to bring life to a digital image as well as digital paper piecing. Making my own background paper is also a great freedom of expression, this allows my backgrounds to enhance the image and make it "pop"! Although nature and faith images are my favorites, using all types of images helps me to break away from my comfort zone and test my creativity. Digital designing is for me a wonderful creative release where the imagination is your only limitation! My Blog
Hi! My name is Kim and I am from the US...currently residing in the hot state of AZ! I have been crafting for as long as I can remember. Always coloring, cutting or pasting something for gifts for family members. I got into scrapping after my daughter was born and then have completely become obsessed! I color mostly with Copics or Prisma Markers but do like to shake it up a bit here and there with embossing (both heat and dry). I would have to say that I like all types of images...depends on my mood and the type of project I am making. I am also one of the type crafter that likes to try the latest tools, sometime to my wallet’s detriment! My Blog

I have an announcement .... ta-daaaaaaaaaaa....
I am the Guest Designer for Bugaboo Stamps for the months of September and October and I couldn't be more honoured and proud, yet humbled at the same time by the awesome introduction the Design Team gave me on the Catch the Bug Blog ... wow is that me?
The Bugaboo stamps are just the cutest little images you could create with, the high quality and clean lines are simply a credit to their super-talented creator, Jodie.
Check out the Bugaboo store here
My first GDT project is a card using five of the family of 'monsters' - the minute I saw the black and white images I was reminded of the song, "We are Family" by Sister Sledge - do you remember it? So I created a little monster family 'choir' and used multi-colours to emphasize their quirky cuteness. The medium of colour is Copics, and I used two embossing folders to create a background, and as embellies, I used a string of rhinestones.

Here is this week's Sketch and my creation using one of the newest images “Door Wreath” by Priscillastyles:
I printed the image twice, and coloured using Copics. The potplant, door wreath door mat and door latch were cut out from the second coloured image and popped up on the first image using foam squares trimmed to size. Some sparkly beads, hand made paper for a Christmas tree and a length of some strange looking stuff (who knows what it is?) complete the card.
Don't you just love the image?

The Crafters Digital Art Center has a progressive freebie challenge... and the first set of digis is free, and the next and the next, if you enter the round with one of the freebies you received. HAPPY HALLOWEEN AT A DAY FOR DAISIES
We're getting a headstart on our projects for HALLOWEEN at A Day for Daisies ... and these are the fabulous new images released today ..
The image I chose to work with is from the set "EeEeK", and I made a sign for some candy treats. The cutie-pie image is coloured using copics and highlighted using a white gel ink pen. - That's all I think it needed to showcase the image.
Don't you think it's fabulous - and all the other images too? have you started on your Halloween projects? For some awesome inspiration you should check out the projects made by my fellow Design Team members ... they are AbFab!
I also wanted to tell you that A Day For Daisies is now also a group on The Crafter's Cafe - we'd love you to become a member there too, and to do that, you simply click HERE

PATTIES CREATIONS DESIGN CHALLENGE #29 : BIRTHDAYS!
Welcome to Challenge #29, where our theme is BIRTHDAYS!
JUST REMEMBER, if you use an image from Pattie's Creations, you will get an extra entry to win! Stop over at her Etsy Store and browse around. There are FREEBIES too.
The challenge starts now and ends Thursday, September 8th at 5PM CST (Central Standard Time)
My card features the cute little "Be Mine Bear" that I paper pieced, dry embossed and popped up the paws and nose on 3D foam tabs. The heart was covered in fabric glitter glue so that it is a tad dimensional. I created the sentiment in MS Word and popped it up over some acrylic lace tape. My embellishments are a satin ribbon, and a bear shaped pink gem. Oh yes, and I gave him some googly eyes! The DP was inked all around to give it a little distressed look.
I think this is a cute birthday card suitable for a girl of any age, don't you?
Pattie has some fabulous images in her store, so it should be too difficult to find one just perfect for your birthday creation!

PRESENTS! at Shelly's Images ...
This week we are sharing presents at Shelly's Images blog!
Well, not real presents, but our creations using Shelly's image 'PRESENTS".
Here is my creation :
I paper pieced the image, by printing it first onto that fabulous textured metallic pearl paper, and then onto shiny blue paper. Both images were shaded using Copics, and then I careful cut out the blue ribbon and pasted it onto the pearl image. The image was matted onto a pale blue striped die cut shape (using a Nellie's Choice Multiframe Die). For the lace panel, I used a piece of my latest 'discovery" - glass security tape (the type you stick on big plate glass windows to warn people not to walk right through them!) I found this roll at one of my local stores and was so excited to see that it was pretty and lacy, and if stuck onto a piece of dark colour cardstock, looked JUSY like real lace, but much easier to use! The three flatback gems are my only embellies!

A SKETCH CHALLENGE AT NETTIE G'S DIGITAL GEMS
First the good news...
Chris, the Lead Designer on Nettie G's Design Team is now co-owner of the store, and Nettie and Chris asked me to take over as Lead Designer, to which I agreed.
So this is my first challenge as the Lead Designer. I chose to make this first one a sketch challenge and this is the sketch to follow:
And here is my project using "Crawling"
I coloured the image using my Copics, and 'chalked' the edges using eye shadow powder. Various offcuts of DP serve to highlight the image, and buttons and ribbon are my embellishments. I used two photo corners, which finishes off the project according to the sketch.
Click HERE to link to the challenge to get all the details.
I would love to see what you create using this sketch.

A DAY FOR DAISIES - IT'S A PRETTY CUTE WORLD! OWLS!
This is one of the new releases today, and I chose to create with "Family Ties". Aren't these owls just the cutest!
This is my creation:
The Colour Palette for colouring the image was determined by the backing paper which is actually gift wrap that I fell in love with last week while I was out shopping, and I just knew I NEEDED it!
So the family of owls was coloured using all the colours in the gift wrap, and then I chose the lilac/purple as my main colour and added embellishments to match. The little flowers are sequins and beads which I sewed onto the card, and the gorgeous flower comes from the US, sent to me by a lovely online friend, Denise - thanks sweetie - you don't know how much I appreciate these beauties! I added a bow made of twine, but as I had no purple/ecru twine, I made it myself.
I also wanted to tell you that A Day For Daisies is now also a group on The Crafter's Cafe - we'd love you to become a member there too, and to do that, you simply click HERE

Here is this week's sketch and my creation:
My card this week features a digistamp from Annabelle's and when I first saw it I thought of all those images of the WW2 soldiers kissing the girls when the end of the war was announced. That led me to create a collage effect background paper, using images depicting the happiness that everyone felt. The heart printed DP depicts the love that was spread around. As embellishments I used an anchor charm that started life as part of an earring, and the spray of flowers finishes off what I think has turned out to be a fabulous card (if I may say so myself!)

BUGABOO'S BIGGEST FAN FOR AUGUST !!
What an honour - I have been named Bugaboo's biggest fan for August, and was invited to submit a card alongside the Design Team for the current challenge on the "Catch the Bug" blog.
The challenge is "Shabby Chic/Vintage" and this is my card ...
And how did I put this card together? Well it was such fun ... and because I love putting together what I call my 'story' cards, I started with the image, called "Flower Gal - Sunflower " and coloured her using Copics. Then I start building my creation and the process takes a couple of days. This one combines old lace, lots of hand beading and sequins, dry embossing, heat embossing, chalking, distressing using eye shadow powders. The chippie birdcage is coloured using shoe polish, and highlighted using gold glitter eye liner, and the bird inside is hand drawn (by moi!). The button on the gold satin bow is a genuine antique/vintage, from my granny's stash, and the fabulous cream coloured flower was sent to me by a friend all the way from the US (ahem - I live in South Africa!) I love to PILE IT ON! and shabby chic is all about that, isn't it?
The Bugaboo Design Team put together really fabulous challenges, every week you have more than one chance to win awesome images - where else can you win up to 7 images, just for being one of the winners - and that's just on the Challenge Blog.
Want to know more, need to know more. Well, here are some useful links ...

PATTIES CREATIONS DESIGN CHALLENGE #28 : ANIMALS OR INSECTS
It's time for another challenge at Pattie's Creations Design Blog, and this time your creation needs to feature an animal or insect.
I chose the gorgeous butterfly image from Pattie's Etsy store to work with, and used one of my favourite sentiments (created in Word Art).
To create my card I tilted the image slightly and then printed the image on bright yellow cardstock. Copics was my medium of colouring and I added a little gliter glue for some added bling.
Two offcuts of co-ordinating designer paper were added for layering, and three acrylic flower-shaped rhinestones served as the embellishments.
Pattie has some fabulous images in her store, depicting animals or insects, so it should be too difficult to find one just perfect for your creation!
JUST REMEMBER, if you use an image from Pattie's Creations, you will get an extra entry to win!
Stop over at her Etsy Store and browse around. There are FREEBIES too.

A DAY FOR DAISIES : DT FAVOURITE SHOWCASE
This week is a little different at A DAY FOR DAISIES ...
Because there has been an abundance of new followers on the blog and in the ADFD & PCP groups recently, each of the Design Team members is showcasing an older image that some of the newer followers may not have seen all coloured up.
Today, I have showcased the incredibly elegant image, VANITY, and this is my creation:
I coloured the image using Copics and then cut it out from the frame. The lacy print DP is "Granny's Lace Returns" from Fabscraps, a South Afrcian Company that has just sent its first consignment to the US. The striped DP is also Fabscraps.
As embellishments I handbeaded a flourish using lilac acrylic bicone beads, and the flower sequins and beads are also sewn on.
There are a couple of hundred images in the A Day for Daisies Etsy Store, each so beautiful and expressive. What a talented artist Tammy is!
I hope that my creation today will inspire you to make a trip to the store to check out ALL the images. But be warned - you'll need a little more than a few minutes to see what's on offer. I am sure you won't come away uninspired or empty handed!
Here are some handy links for you:
All the DT's have used a different image, and each one is simply outstanding! Click HERE to see them all.
