ANYTHING BUT A CARD - A WEDDING GUEST ALBUM

I wanted to make something special for a very special couple, Belinda and Steve, who got married last weekend, and I decided on a handmade album containing a page for each guest to write a message.

I recycled the hard board backing from one of my 12 x 12 paper pads and created the cover for the album by covering it in woodgrain DP.  The spine was strengthened by covering it in self-adhesive canvas that I spritzed to colour it from white to brown.
The magnetic handbag catch was hidden behind a little heart shaped metal photo frame - in the frame is a photograph I took of Belinda and Steve during their first dance.

I pre-decorated pages for the inside of the album and handed them to guests.  Once they had written their messages I collected them and finished off the album at home.

There are about 25 pages, each one differently decorated using diecuts, washi tape, flower, gems, pearls, etc etc   :

As Steve is of Scottish descent and wore his kilt at the wedding, I used the Brown family tartan where I could.  The back of each page contains wedding and love related quotations, as well as excepts from the poems recited during the ceremony (and yes - Robert Burns was one of them).
The pages were bound into the cover using a tartan ribbon, onto which I hung their initials in metal, and a metal heart:

I gave their gift to them today and they were touched - I hope that this will bring back many wonderful memories of what was a beautiful wedding.
