I coloured the image using alcohol markers and a white gel pen

Today, 3 April, is

"Don't Go To Work Unless it's Fun" Day

and  I am at home ........ celebrating the day with this card:

The Bugaboo image (the sentiment is part of the set) featured on my card is  Ruby Chocolate - Nature's Way, that I coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen:

I trimmed off some of my DP scraps, matted them onto black CS, and arranged them on my card.  A couple of gems later - isn't the new trend of the gems attached to each other such a wonder time-saver! - and my card was completed.

THE OUTLAWZ COLOUR CHALLENGE

The Outlawz Colour challenge this week is this:

And this is my interpretation:

The Bugaboo Stamps image featured on my card is called Heels - Daisy.  The image is actually of a single shoe but because it is available in a png version too, I was able to place a pair of shoes on my card.  I coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen, and added some Stickles too.

The following items from my stash were used to make up my card:

lilac CS card base
offcuts of DP
offcut of a DP that was embossed (mini Swiss dots) and distressed (sanded)
a satin ribbon
bling buckle
square gems

BUGABOO STAMPS :: A NEW RELEASE

As it's Tuesday, I have a Bugaboo Stamps new release to share with you.

I used the image, called AKV BOY - Flower Pot, to make a little note card without a sentiment, as it's always handy to have these in my stash. Perhaps I need to say "thanks", or "thinking of you" or I'm sorry", you never know when you need one of these.

I coloured the image using alcohol markers and a white gel pen, and added Glossy Accents to the flowers.  White the GA was still wet, I added a bead to the centre of each flower.
The image was cut out using an oval die, mounted on a shiny green CS offcut, which in turn was mounted onto an offcut of kraft CS with a punched border.  I threaded through a green organza ribbon and added a butterfly button.  There is a white CS background on the yellow CS base card.

TRYING OUT SOMETHING NEW IN COLOURING

I was working on developing an extension to my colouring techniques last night (well I should say at 1 am this morning) and then used the coloured Saturated Canary image on a card to enter into The Outlawz Greeting Card challenge today:

The colouring medium is alcohol markers and a white gel pen and what was going on in my head has pretty much translated onto the card, but I am not ready to share until I have perfected it.

I thought this little image is representative of the start of Spring as she is dressed for winter and has taken her warm mittens off to welcome the warmer weather of Spring.  Isn't it strange that come the 1st of Spring, the Ms Winter always wants to get in the last word and give us some really cold weather?

To make up my card I used DP offcuts from the scrap bin, as well as paper roses, pearls from BLUEBERRY BEAR, stick on sentiment and hearts, satin ribbon and bow and a scrap of pretty lace. The cardstock base card is white, as are all the card mats.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

DEEP OCEAN CHALLENGE, #48, PHOTO INSPIRATION (I was inspired by the beautiful colour of the roses and tried to use the same colour on my card)
