The usual method of paper piecing is DP on CS, but this crazy gypsy wanted to change things around .. .. again, so this is what CS piecing on DP paper looks like:
As I wanted a very simple image to work with, I chose this free colouring page of an owl from the internet, and printed him onto the Basic Grey bird print DP. The edges were inked with a soft blue chalk.
This is how the image is pieced together::
The image was printed a second time onto white CS, and merged in a sentiment added, and from it I cut the eyes area and the white of the tummy with the sentient. Those I left white and glued them onto the image printed onto the DP.
I alsocut the beak and the feet, coloured with Copics and pasted onto the DP.
I printed the image onto red white core CS, cut out the wings, embossed and sanded/distressed them, before gluing onto the DP.
The 'eyebrows' were coloured black using a Copic marker, and moving googly eyes.
I added a pearl heart into the sentiment, and a red CS mat.
A red gingham ribbon was added along the bottom.
The card base is white.
I love the way this card looks now that it is finished!
