THE OUTLAWZ COLOUR CHALLENGE : 12 NOVEMBER

Today's challenge at The Outlawz is a great deal of fun!  This is the colour palette, and we are invited to choose two addition colours (from the inspiration photograph) and to add our own twist.

So, I chose lilac and deep purple as my two additional colours, and sparkling silver stars as my twist, and created this card:

After printing the silhouette onto white CS, I added the purple polka dot ribbon and the peel off sentiment.

To create the dress I used an offcut of (wired on both sides) Christmas organza ribbon from last year, and removed the wire from one of the sides so i could gather it up for the waist of her skirt.  I sewed the skirt directly onto the cardstock, leaving the hem free so that I could bend it into a gorgeous swirly shape (to. match the swing of her hips as she walks)

The bodice is also an offcut of the ribbon, and stitched into place on the cardstock.  The sequin stars on the bodice are stitched on using tiny seed beads.

I added a tiny satin bow and shiny star sequin and stitched it into place too.

Finally the image was matted onto purple cardstock and glued onto the card.
