SHELLY'S IMAGES : It's Spring !!!

ta- daaaaa....Yes, I have another announcement - I am the Guest Designer for Shelly's Images this week!

My card, featuring the cute lamb image from Shelly's online store, was coloured using my coloured pencils and OMS. Doesn't that cute lamb have just the most innocent look in its eyes - I love it! I decided to use pretty spring colours for the floral embellishments and the shades of blue for the background papers with the farmyard scene.

I have an announcement …

I am now a member of Nettie G’s Design Team, and today is my first posting using the beautiful Dogrose that Nettie drew, for the latest challenge.

I coloured my image using my colour pencils and OMS, and added a hand-drawn frame. I used a variety of my paper offcuts to mat onto. As embellishments I used three flatback pearls and a white satin ribbon bow.

DIGITAMPS 4 JOY CAS CHALLENGE

I have an announcement .....

I am the new Co-ordinator for the Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team, and part of my duties will be to make the challengews exciting and rewarding, both for the Design Team and the entrants.

The new challenge that started today is a CAS challenge .... CLEAN AND SIMPLE... and this is the card that I have made for your inspiration ...



I have used the image "Geese Astray" from the Digistamp 4 Joy store HERE and printed the image and the sentiment directly on the card. I kept the embellishments to an absolute minimum: only a strip of coloured card with a stick-on border.

So as you can see - it's a matter of KISS - keep it simple sistah

FRIDAY - A DAY FOR DAISIES NEW RELEASE DAY!

Aren't Fridays always fabulous when there are new releases at A DAY FOR DAISIES and a new challenge?

Tammy Designed two really really pretty sets of peacock-inspired images, the first with her signature little babies,

and the other with this beautiful set :


and as I just love peacock feathers, this is my card:




I those the accessories (clutch and slip on shoe) and used one of my peacoicke feather s I hsvr here at home, as a reference for the colours. The shocking pink as the sophisticated bsse colour for the shoe and purse seems to highlight the beautiful jewel tones of the feather.

I coloured using water colour pencils and OMS, and embellished using round rhinestones and a gold chain for the clutch bag.

The theatre ticket stub is one I printed and then gave it a torn took for authenticity.

Works well,..... don't ya think?

This is a fun way to get those creative drawing juices flowing. They have two categories for this fun activity and there are two more weeks to enter. If you are a selling artists or a non-selling artist you can enter up to three digi creations. 

The prizes are really fun too!!

COLOUR Q CHALLENGE NO #76

I have found the time to participate in one of the exciting Colour Q challenges and what a lovely colour combo it is this round :


and this is my card using those colours :



I used an image from a new desginer, Arielle, who has an online digi store called Wax Fruit Company. Her images are just gorgeous and I love creating with them, especially her flowers.
I kept the card and the embellishments realatively simple, as I wanted the focus to fall on the fabulous image and colours.

And this is my DT card that I made, using Deedee's image called Sunflowers and Sunshine:

I coloured the image using my coloured pencils and OMS, and cut it out. Two oval diecuts (using Nellies Choice dies), the purple one coloured using Lindy's Moon Shadow Mist and Starburst Spray, and the other in orange batik paper, were used as the sketch ovals. The background paper was also coloured using a Lindy's product, Starburst Spray and the corners were punched. As embellishments I used the gorgeous sunflowers - oh wow I love them!

I think I achieved a really happy look with this card, and using the wonderful MMSC#95 sketch certainly helped me achieve that!

Before I get into telling you what I did with my card for the challenge, we need your prayers for our DT member Natacha. Natacha's mom, Debbie, has gotten the news that her cancer has returned. The theme for this week's challenge is 'Green'. We'd like to see creations with the color Green. Our DT, and you've already been introduced to Melody, created some wonderful inspirations for this week's challenge, and they love to receive comments, I know that I do, so click on their names to view their blogs.

A winner will be chosen by Random.org. The winner will receive 3 images of their choice from Pattie's Etsy Store and an 'I Won' badge from the sidebar.

'Allie's Top 3 Award' will be given to 3 entries that have caught our eye. The winners will be chosen by the DT Coordinator, and can proudly display our badge on their sidebar. These winners will also be put into a monthly random draw for a chance to win 2 images of their choice from Pattie's Etsy Store. The drawing will always fall on the last day of the month. The card that I have used for my DT card for this challenge is ....



I used one of the sets of gifts, and used my watercolour, regular and neon colouring pencils to colour the image and I added green glitter glue to the dots on the image. The ribbon on the image was coloured in neon pencils and sealed using an art sealant.

The image was matted on some leafy green paper that had the edges inked, and the sentiment was printed using wordart.

Aren't these Merbabies just the cutest you have ever seen?

Here is the card I made using one of them :



I coloured the little Merbaby using Copics and various coloured pencils and OMS, and embellished her using matching glitter glue.

The rocks are torn paper and the tree of shells is an earring that I found, and glued (upside down) after removing the earring hook. The paper flowers were decorated using little gems, and the tiny little flowers and butterflies are nail art gems. The sentiment was printed and onto a spellbinders diecut.
