MY ATTEMPT AT VINTAGE ...

When I saw that the Tuesday Colour challenge over at The Outlawz was to make a vintage project, my immediate reaction was ...'uh oh ... moving on ...' cos vintage is not one of the techniques I am comfortable in doing.  But then it is a challenge right, and I needed to come out of my comfort zone and I decided to take on the challenge.

Here is what we are challenged with : and this is my interpretation :
I started off with the vintage image that I printed on shiny paper (why did I do that cos it's impossible to get a good photograph!) and matted it onto two shades of brown CS.  I then did some minimal colouring using alcohol markers:

Then I piled on a lot of stuff to make my card:

white CS card base
green CS mat
those brown things (coloured using Spectrum Noir markers) with sewn on pearls  - someone called them antlers
brown floral DP
 and the rest :

Is it vintage - I don't know.  I do know that I like how this card looks, and so does my son - who has claimed it to give to his (future) mother-in-law for her birthday todayShe doesn't follow my blog so this won't spoil the surprise.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

ABC CHALLENGES, TIC TAC TOE  (ribbon / brown cardstock / button)
VICTORINE STAMPS, #46, TIC TAC TOE ( button / bow / coloring)

  5. Well I sure wouldn't have guessed that you aren't comfortable with vintage as it turned out really lovely. I know what you mean though - I struggle with that too. So proud of you for pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. Thanks for joining our 3 in a Row challenge this week at 'ABC' Challenges. Hugs. D
