ANYTHING GOES this week at 613 AVENUE CREATE!

Don't you just love an ANYTHING GOES challenge!!!
I know I do, and this week at 613 AVENUE CREATE, just by entering your project, you could win a fabulous prize from the sponsor,
RICK ST DENNIS!

We, as the DT, were given some of the sponsor's images to use on our inspiration projects, and here is mine:

The RICK ST DENNIS image featured on my card is called "Lady of the Roses", and I have used alcohol markers to colour it.

Here is an explanation of what I used on my card:

I can't wait to see what YOU create for our challenge!

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY NEW RELEASE :: A-OKAY!

It's time to share another of my drawings released as a digistamp in the DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY store.  This one is called A-Okay! and she's a tomboy, perfect for cards for girls who don't like all the fussy frills and bling:

I coloured the image using alcohol markers in a pretty Spring colour palette, and a white gel pen:

For the rest of the card I used the following:

white CS card base
pink CS card mat
printed DP
corner punch
three dimensional flowers with white petals
pink butterfly
pink gems
satin and organza ribbons

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY NEW RELEASE :: TODDLER IN A TIARA

The third and last of my drawings released today in the DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY store is called TODDLER IN A TIARA, and yes, it is inspired by the US TV series.  I am certainly not a fan of the series, but I do love looking at the expensive and beautiful dresses that are shown, and they inspired me to draw this image:

I coloured the image using alcohol markers and a white gel pen, and added lots of Stickles to the dress, shoes and tiara.

To make up my card I used the following:

white base card
blue CS card mats
corner punch
silver glitter foam diecut that I cut in half to use top and right hand side
blue and silver gems
white fancy flat back pearls from BLUEBERRY BEAR
spray of flowers
two satin ribbon bows

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY NEW RELEASE :: ALOE

I would like to share another of my drawings now available as a digistamp in the DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY store, and this one is called ALOE.  Recently while I was in Gauteng, my brother in law drove past many fields of beautiful aloes, and since then I was inspired to draw one for the store.

Here is my card using my drawing:

I love colouring flowers and always seem to keep my cards with flower images relatively CAS.  This one is coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen :

I decided to keep a South African theme going for my card so I used animal print Scotch tape that was available in South Africa a few years ago, black gems, raffia fibre bow and kraft cardstock.  The card base is a textured, handmade dark brown card.  I used a stick on sentiment.

INSPIRED BY A RAINBOW ... A NEW CHALLENGE AT BUGABOO STAMPS' CATCH THE BUG BLOG

My awful countdown has started ..... it's now only 6 days till our oldest son Nick leaves to go to live and work in Singapore for a year!!!  He leaves on Friday, 29 (my baby is only 23 years old!) and although I am immensely proud that he is one of only two of his company's employees chosen to attend the work study programme in Singapore, I am going to miss him!!!    Not one day in his 23 years of life have gone by without me seeing him, he is a ray of sunshine to us all here, and that sunshine will surely be missed while he is away!

.... anyway, enough miserable rambling from me for today ....

This week's challenge at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug blog is to use this photograph as your inspiration:

and this how I interpreted it (no surprises why, hey?!):

Perhaps I will sneak this card into his luggage for him to find when he unpacks his bags in Singapore ... he'll know how much I'll miss him.

The image featured on my card is the umbrella from Mini Set - Spring Stuff, that I coloured using alcohol markers. The flowers on the umbrella are Glossy Accents coated.

I chose a free background from the internet and positioned the png version of the image directly onto it before printing.  Teardrop shaped gems in the rainbow colours were stuck onto the corresponding colour stripes.  A green satin ribbon and bow threaded through a red heart shaped button and a computer generated sentiment were added.

I think this card reminds me of all those Spring Showers (and makes me feel a little sad as I love Spring! but here in South Africa we are officially four days into Autumn).

Here is the link to where you can find the challenge, and also the fabulously talented Bugaboo Dt's inspiration projects too.

Just by entering you stand in line to win a FANTASTIC Bugaboo digi pack
you can't winit if you're not init!

THE FIRST SIGNS OF SPRING ...a challenge at The Outlawz

Today's challenge at The Outlawz has the theme "The First Signs of Spring" and this is my entry

The image is a colouring page that I found on the internet.  I coloured it using my alcohol markers and a white gel pen, and mounted it onto a kraft CS mat.

Here is a pictorial explanation of how I put my card together :

PRICK AND STITCH FOR THE OUTLAWZ SKETCH CHALLENGE

The Sketch to follow at The Outlawz this week is :

but I flipped it a quarter turn and made this card:

The prick and stitch detail was created using a template, and regular mercerised thread and I added some beads and sequins to add a little detail:

A happy birthday stick on sentiment and a gem and pearl adorned butterfly diecut from Memory Box were added.

I also used the following:
white CS card base
gold and white background from BLUEBERRY BEAR
metallic gold card mats
stick on pearls
fancy pearls from BLUEBERRY BEAR
