CDAC PROGRESSIVE FREEBIE CHALLENGES : ROUND #4

Round 4 of the Progressive Freebie Challenges has just started on CDAC, and the freebies for this round are simply gorgeous.

One of my favourites is this Mandela from Daisy Doodles, and I made this card:

The image was coloured using Copics, and I added a little red gem in the centre. And that's all I think it needed - no fancy embellishments or embossing, no patterned DP's - the image is strong enough to stand alone, don't you think?

I will also enter this project in the following challenges:
Card Cupids
Gingerloft Challenge
One Stitch at a Time - Use a digi (#82)
Bling it on Challenges - October - no patterned papers

I hope you like what you see, and I'd love it if you came and joined us on the latest round of the Progressive Freebie Challenges, so you too can be in line to win one of those fabulous prizes!

A DAY FOR DAISIES : "FALL CUTIES" - NEW RELEASE

I have had internet speed problems for the past few days and was really unable to post on my blog except for a few very small window periods.

So this post is a little late, but hey, rather a late New Release post for A DAY FOR DAISIES, than none at all ... don't you agree?

The set is called "Fall Cuties" and I chose to work with an image completely out of my comfort zone - a frog. It's not that I don't like frogs, they actually don't bother me at all, but the style of image is a little different to what I usually work with. And then I tried a card completely different for me too ....

This card also serves to introduce you to the new challenge - we DARE you to use as much texture as you can ....

This fabulous set is not the only one in the new releases, the others are equally as precious!

As usual I have a set of useful links for you:

Welcome to another TERRIFICALLY THRILLING THURSDAY here at Shelly's Images.

This week's featured image is " Diamond Ring",

OLDIE BUT GOODIE!!! DAY AT BUGABOO!

I love it that Bugaboo Stamps has a day set aside to play with Oldies BUT Goodies! Hey - to those of you who're new to Bugaboo every one of the stamps is like a new release!

Have a look HERE too, to see what the other Design Team members have created.

Being the Bugaboo Stamps Guest Designer for September and October, I get to show you an oldie, but oh my gosh - such a cutie!

The image I used is called Girl Turtle and is available in the store HERE.

She was coloured using Copics and a white gel pen, and I used her on a shaped card, a notelet and envelope card. It is a one-layer card, and the gold lines showing where the notelet and envelope are, are actually stick-on s. This technique is one that I learned at our Card Guild Workshop Day last week - and was one of the nine techniques we learned. Some flowers, inked and adorned with flat back pearls, and some die cut swirls, complete the card.

As I usually do for you, here are some really handy links:
