PATTIE'S CREATIONS DESIGN CHALLENGE #26 : GLITTER AND BLING

Welcome to Challenge #26, where our theme is GLITTER OR BLING!
JUST REMEMBER, if you use an image from Pattie's Creations, you will get an extra entry to win!

Here is my creation, and I used one of Patties latest images called "Vintage Wedding Dress"

Instead of making a wedding card, I used the image to make a 21st birthday card, one of my recent orders. I have since added the name "GUGU" to the card, and the digits "21" and the client was really happy (phew!)

The image was coloured using Copics and I added a little glitter glue, a South African brand called "Skwiglues" to introduce a little sparkle. The embellishments I added by sewing them on, are:
- a string of pearls for a necklace
- a double layer (1 layer satin and one layer polka dot organza)
- a metal key charm
- a pearl buckle
- a pink crystal bead swirl
- some crystal flower rhinestones

I'd love to see what you create using GLITTER & BLING!

JUST REMEMBER, if you use an image from Pattie's Creations, you will get an extra entry to win!

Stop over at her Etsy Store and browse around. There are FREEBIES too.
The challenge starts now and ends Thursday, June 6TH at 1PM CST (Central Standard Time).

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY Challenge #23 : Christmas in July

The Countdown to Christmas has begun!!! Scary thought huh?

Well, we at Digistamps 4 Joy would like to help you get a headstart on your Christmas Card makes, so for this new challenge, we would like you to create a CHRISTMAS CARD, using lots of snow and ice!

One random winner will be chosen (random.org) to win 3 images of choice from the store. We will then have a DT's choice award. This award will go to the the card / project that we vote to be our favourite (and must be a digistamps4joy image). This winner will receive a $6 gift voucher to spend in the store. You do not need to use a Digistamps4Joy image to win.We will choose 2 runners-up who we feel deserve a spot in the top 3.

The most important rule, however, is to have fun!

Here is my creation for your inspiration ...

I used three DS4J images for my DT card, coloured using Copics and glitter gel pens. They are arranged on a Cuttlebug (snowflakes)embossed background and I have purposely not added a sentiment cos I think I might send this card to my family in Holland - so will have to print one up in Dutch cos I don't think I have a digi that is appropriate.

I hope you will join us on this challenge - it's a welcome change to be creating in a Christmas theme - and you could be rewarded with a prize just for having fun.

Here are some handy links for you:

Head on over to the challenge blog by clicking HERE to see the other fabulous creations by the Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team, and for more information on the challenge.

You stand the chance of winning images just by entering your project Click HERE to go to the DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY STORE to do your shopping (there may even be a freebie there for you to snag!)

Here is this week's Sketch and our my creations:

First, the 3D creation using Petaloo “Color Me Crazy” Products:
I made an ALTERED CLOCK, by dismantling an old kitchen clock with a really cheesy image on the face. I recovered the face with the printed numbers scrapbooking paper, and then used self-adhesive “Color Me Crazy” alphabet stickers to create the words around the edge. The letters were coloured using Copics “Coral” and “Lipstick Red” and shaded towards the bottom using Copics “Putty”. Then I reassembled the clock and hey presto – It works! I think it looks much better now than before!

The card I made uses an image from D’Amour Allure, that I coloured using Copics and embellished with flowers from their store, to turn it into a vintage wedding card. I call these my ‘story’ cards, as here is always so much going on, on them, and each little embellishment and detail adds to the story the card is telling. The extra’s on the card are :
Oval die cut – Nellie’s Choice Dies
Black swirls die cuts – Marianne’s Choice
Sequins and beads sewn around oval and on veil
Veil – some obscure plastic netting I ripped off a hat
Self-adhesive lace – made in China, purchased at thrift store
Strings of pearls – from my bellydance costume making stash
Pink printed background paper – made using a clear stamp
Now if you’d like to get a chance to win some of those awesome prizes from our generous sponsors, you’d better get creating! ……… (this sketch is a real easy one this week!)
