LET'S PLAY BUGABOO BINGO

Today's challenge at Bugaboo Stamps' Catch the Bug blog has a BINGO board for you to choose from:

and for my card I chose
RIBBON ~ CHARM ~ HEART

The image on my card is Flower Water Can - Rose Can  that I coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen.
I used a black card mat and mounted the image and mat onto a white CS background that I had inked (blue to match the shading around the image).

My other supplies from my stash for this card are:
white CS card base
butterfly embellishment
narrow and wide purple satin ribbon and bow
silver metal heart charm

Just by entering the challenge you could win one of these fabulous prize packs:
10 free images   (using a Bugaboo image only),  seven  (7), or four (4) using any image!

THE OUTLAWZ FRIDAY CHALLENGE

Friday's challenge at The Outlawz is to create a 'sympathy/thinking of you' card, and this is my entry:

The image is from Saturated Canary and I coloured it using alcohol markers and a white gel pen:

two butterfly diecuts from MEMORY BOX available here in SOUTH AFRICA
flat back pearls and hearts from BLUEBERRY BEAR
three paper roses from BLUEBERRY BEAR
The sentiment is a stick-on

A BONUS VALENTINE'S CHALLENGE AT SHELLY'S IMAGES

Shelly's Images BONUS Challenge!!!
February 1 - February 28, 2013

For this challenge everyone who chooses to participate will receive the Key to My Heart set FREE!  Check out the SHELLY'S IMAGES challenge blog for details on how to download this set for free and the guidelines for entering the challenge.

Here is my card using three of the images in the set:

The outside of the card - with a heart-shaped cut out window

To create the outside, I cut a window out of white CS and used a pale grey alcohol marker to give some depth to the cut side. The key image was coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen, adorned with a gem, and fussy cut.  I then placed it partly over the cut out:

This is the inside of the card

As you can see, I used fabulous black lace print DP from Fabscraps and placed the cut out image so that it can be seen through the window in the front of the card.  I added some Stickles too.  The white cloud effect makes it look as if the keyhole is 'floating' and was achieved by colouring with a white gel pen and smudging it with my finger while it was still wet.

The sentiment on my card allows the card to be given for any occasion where love is involved, even a 'just because' offering from one lover to another.  I am all for making every day as special as Valentine's Day!

ANOTHER ORDER FROM ZAMA

My son's colleague regularly gives me orders for special occasion cards that are not readily available in stores.  Here is one of those orders, on which I merged two Digistamps 4 Joy images, Floral Cross and Freesian Booklet and created a frame around them.

She left the design up to me, but specified the colour blue and the words she wanted added. So I used a white CS base card, and blue DP of which I inked the edges for a little more definition.

The card opens up to reveal the two Bible texts that she had chosen:

and the third fold lifts up to reveal the message:

As the base card was 240gsm thick and there were three layers plus the DP, I needed to find a way to keep the card closed.  A little band of white CS and an off cut of the DP embellished with three pearl top brads from BLUEBERRY BEAR hold it closed nicely now.

I hope the likes the card!

THE OUTLAWZ :: WEDNESDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE

The minute I saw this sketch over at The Outlawz Wednesday challenge I knew what I wanted to do.  Unfortunately I couldn't get to making my card right away as I had three appointments to see clients today and had to wait till I had got home, finished the admin  finished preparing the dinner, and only then could I get started.

This is the sketch I followed:but I flipped it vertically and this is my card:

The image featured on my card is called Ava Heart from the Bugaboo Digi Stamps store.

I coloured the image using alcohol markers and cut out using a die.  There is a purple CS diecut behind the image too.

Embellishments are the three flowers with gem centres, and the purple square gems along the bottom.
TheDP is an offcut, so I'm afraid I can't identify that for you.

I think this card fold is perfect for the sketch!

WHAT!? ANOTHER VINTAGE CARD FOR THE OUTLAWZ??!!

How did that happen?  I don't particularly enjoy making vintage cards, so two in a row ... wow!!!

The Color Challenge today at the Outlawz is :

And this is my interpretation:

My starting point was this recently purchase sheet of 12 x 12 DP from Authentique, called "Greetings" in the Lovely range :

It's a beautiful textured paper, and double sided.  I used the centre image in the top row.

After I cut out the image, I inked the edges to give them some definition, and mounted it onto kraft card that also had the edges inked.  I coloured the image a little with my alcohol markers to increase the intensity:

For the rest of the card, I used :

off-white CS card base
blue card mat
offcut of striped brown DP
sky blue organza ribbon and bow
and
the following BLUEBERRY BEAR products:

three small pearl flatbacked hearts

three paper flowers, layered, with a large flatback pearl centre

Although I am not a HUGE vintage fan, I think I am happy with this card, and I would like to add it to the following challenges:

A VINTAGE CARD FOR THE OUTLAWZ

The image featured on my card is a digi by Sandi's Samples, and is coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen.

I decided that she looked like she was from yesteryear and so I needed to make a vintage themed card.

Here is what I used on my card, from the bottom up:

cream CS base card
cream CS card mat with inked edges
offcut of vintage DP with inked edges
brocade flowers
satin ribbon and bow
stitched on arch of peach coloured beads
stitched on ruffle of vintage lace
string of pearl beads
spray of flowers
Although i spent way too much time and effort stitching everything on by hand, I loved creating this project and I think it's going to be one of those that I pin up on my "brag" board.
