SO WHAT'S NEW?

So what's new in January?

Well firstly - I have got myself an agency and I am now an agent for an importer of FABULOUS crafty stuff  ...
- you'll see the goodies I sell on page 3 of my blog.  

Secondly,  I also have a NEW airconditioner that blows ice cold air - just what we need here in Durban in summer!  

And then some great news is that I have the honour of being the guest designer at The Outlawz for the month of January and am so excited to be sharing with you all my inspiration card for today's Challenge that calls for the use of a brad and something newly purchased.

This week's sponsor is Digistamps4Joy - isn't that fun!  so I used one of my own images that I drew for the store for my card.  This one is called  Victoria 

The image is colouring using alcohol markers and a white gel pen.  I fussy cut it out and placed it behind a diecut made from my newly purchased Lea'bilities die. 

 The pale blue and white DP has one corner punched using a MS corner punch.  The embellishments are the flowers and a gem topped brad has been used for the centre of one of the flowers.  The sentiment is a stick-on.  I sewed on some shiny white flower sequins and beads too.

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY :: NEW RELEASE :: COUNTRY BRIDE

I'd like to share one of the new releases in the Digistamps 4 Joy store today.  This one is one of my own drawings, named "COUNTRY BRIDE". although I must admit when I drew the image I didn't intend to draw a bride at all.  I do think, however, that if you coloured her dress white, she does look like a bride.  Here is my version, of her as a young lady (who is not a bride).

The image is coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen. Her dress has a layer of Stickles.  Here is a better look at the image:

FRIDAY'S CHALLENGE AT THE OUTLAWZ

Yesterday's challenge at The Outlawz (Copics and Promarkers, etc) has the theme :

 "New Beginnings

Make a card or project depicting any new beginning - new baby, new home, new relationship, new year - you get it!  Just remember, your project must include some coloring with alcohol markers (any brand)."

and here is a card I made using a Mo Manning image called "Spit Happens"

It's coloured using alcohol markers and a white gel pen for the highlights.  Here is a better look at the image

THE TWISTED THURSDAY CHALLENGE AT THE OUTLAWZ

Today's challenge at The Outlawz is to add a 'snowpeople' and this is my card using an image that is a free colouring page on the internet.

zI printed the image on sugar (construction) paper and coloured it using colour pencils.  It was matted onto turquoise CS, and a layer of textured glitter added for a snow effect.  Inbetween the glitter I added some tiny flower shaped sequins which I attached by sewing them on with seed beads. 

As embellishments I added some turquoise satin ribbon and a bow, and some flowers and fancy flatback pearls, available here.

THE OUTLAWZ TUESDAY COLOUR CHALLENGE

The first challenge of 2013 over at The Outlawz is a colour challenge and these are the colours to be used:

The image featured on my card is called Princess Rose Red and you can find her in the Saturated Canary shop HERE.

I coloured the image using alcohol markers, and added white gel pen highlights.  Stickles were added to her skirt for some bling:
