PATTIE'S CREATIONS DESIGN CHALLENGE #21:

Welcome to Challenge #21, where the theme is to make a creation for a Child with a Child's Name on it! JUST REMEMBER, if you use an image from Pattie's Creations, you will get an extra entry to win! Stop over at her Etsy Store and browse around. There are FREEBIES too!
The challenge starts now and ends Thursday, May19th at 1PM CST (Central Standard Time).

My card for this challenge features Pattie's Noah's Ark image, which I coloured using Copics, and cut out. I found a child's poem and printed it over a rainbow image.

My card is made freehand, as I couldn't find my saved tutorial for the pop-up card on my computer, so I just had to 'wing" it. But hey, it worked!

A DAY FOR DAISIES ... A PERFECT FAIRY TALE

On Friday, Tammy, the talented owner/artist of A Day for Daisies released another stunning set of images :

And my personal favourite :

This is what I made with the image :

I coloured with my new Copics and chose very pale shades and added a May calendar too, so that I can prop it up on my desk in its pretty little wooden frame. My signature sewn on beads and sequins and a pale blue ribbon are the only embellishments.

DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY CHALLENGE : "IT'S A CELEBRATION"

The last thing I feel like to today is celebrating anything - I have a bad dose of flu and bronchitis on top of that, so today's post will be short one.

The new challenge at DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY has just started and for this one you need to make a creation for "It's a Celebration " ... more of an anything goes, I suppose, for a celebration like a birthday, wedding engagement, etc..

For my DT card I printed the sentiment, available in the DS4J store, on a piece of pattern scrapbooking paper, and then coloured some of the white areas in the pattern using my coloured pencils and OMS. A few beads and sequins were sewn onto the card, and a pretty little ribbon bow and there you have it!

I love the simplicity of the design which makes the beautiful colours really pop!

Would you like to win some of the fabulous images in the Digistamps store, yes? ... then enter the challenge, and you could be a winner too!

And this is the card I made using the "fancy" sketch as my inspiration :

The Priscillastyles image was printed on printed scrapbooking paper that had the vintage images on it so because I didn't want to cover them, I used MS Word to add shapes to follow the sketch. The negative spaces (outside the shapes) were shaded using coloured pencils and OMS, and the flowers on the image were embellished using beads and sequins that were sewn onto the card. The two postage stamps were from the same scrapbooking paper and also coloured using pencils and OMS. The ribbon and two photo corner come from my stash.

This is really an easy sketch to follow and so you should have no problem in entering a creation for a chance to win one of those FABULOUS prizes!

PEKINESE : Shelly's Images

I'd love to tell you about this new card I made with an image from Shelly's Images. Isn't that just the cutest little face? All the Pekinese I have seen have been pampered little pooches, so I decided to call my card "Spoilt Rotten". I coloured the image with coloured pencils and OMS. I used a Nellie's Choice die cut and sewed on some sequins and beads. Then I created a little blinged collar chain with a diamante pendant. Of course I had to add the sentiment "SPOILT ROTTEN". The gorgeous black and silver paper is from a bag of offcuts I bought recently.

ROYALTY WEEK

There seems to be a flood of royalty and wedding inspired digital images this week, following the ROYAL WEDDING.

One fabulous image, royal but not wedding, is the fabulous crown image designed by Priscillastyles, which I have coloured using my trusty coloured pencils and OMS, and embellished with my signature beads and sequins, sewn onto the card with invisible thread. The purple floral background paper is "Bohemian Spring" from FabScraps, a South African company that has just recently started selling its fabulous products in the US.

I would like to enter this card into the Challenge 1 at THROUGH THE CRAFT ROOM DOOR, Where there is an 'anything goes' challenge that has just started.

I will be back tomorrow with another fabulous royal image used on one of my creations.
